Projects

In the past 6 years, a total of 41 drill holes have been drilled in Makoni North, Ward 1 and 2 in Tanda, Ward 36 14 drill holes.

Makoni North is located east of Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. Chikore is the main settlement in this area. Ward 1 was a reserve for Africans to live in until independence. It has an area of about 150 square kilometers. Makoni North Ward 2 is an area of about 377 square kilometers. Until just before independence in 1980, white farmers lived in this dry area. They owned large farms with cows. Just after independence in 1980, this area was given back to residents of Zimbabwe from former reserves, among others. They are resettled here and come from all over the country. Thus, in Ward 2 30 villages were created. Those villages have been given numbers instead of a name. The villages rely on boreholes and pumps built by the white farmers for water. After 1980, nothing had happened in terms of water.

Tanda, Ward 36 was also a former reserve. It is located 30 kilometers east of Makoni North, Ward 2. In almost all the villages where drilling was done, residents still drank water from rivers. People were therefore enormously grateful and pleased with our arrival and the results. Of the 14 borings, we found water in 14 places! Finally clean and reliable water not too far a walk away!

In Sanyati, 3 sites were drilled for water in 2015. Two of them had water. One borehole was also cleaned. This hole had not been in use for the past 12 years. There was too much mud and rust in the water. Sanyati is located west of Harare. It is a difficult area to drill as there is Kalahari sand at some depth. Therefore, the boreholes had to be protected not only with PVC pipes but also with steel pipes.

In 2016, 2017 and 2018, we drilled for water at 27 sites in Guruve North. Of these drilled holes, 22 had water. This area is north of the capital Harare and is as big as the provinces of North Holland and Utrchet combined.

In 2019, we visited the Mudzi district, an area northwest of Harare. Of the 6 holes drilled, 4 had water.

In 2022, we were finally able to drill in Guruve South. All 7 holes drilled had water!
